Decorative Arts Highlights

The Ringling’s collection of decorative arts represents fine workmanship from a variety of locations and time periods. From ancient Roman cameos and glass to early twentieth-century Gilded Age tableware, these objects are not only functional but beautiful. Also included in this collection are over 250 fans, a number of French and German portrait medallions, medieval and later liturgical objects, outstanding eighteenth-century silver, Italian Renaissance ceramics, and fine furniture. Many of these objects were created for everyday use, but over time came to be appreciated for their aesthetic and artistic merit.
