John Ringling Bequest

John Ringling Bequest

Upon his death in 1936, John Ringling's will left his home, art museum, and its collection to the people of the State of Florida. Under state stewardship since 1946, the collection consists of the art, furnishings, and other pieces owned by John Ringling at the time of his death. While the collection has grown through the years, the core of the John Ringling Bequest will always be an asset belonging to the people of the State of Florida.
